Emily Reade

I started my healthcare career in 2010, as a Personal Support Worker. I spent 8 years working in nursing homes and hospitals. I then wanted to further my career, and went back to obtain my Licensed Practice Nurse diploma. Graduating in 2020, I started my nursing career in post surgery.
Although I loved the hustle and bustle of the busy hospital, I missed working with seniors, and needed a better work-life balance, especially with two preteens at home.

I wanted to find a career that offered more one-on-one time with clients, and to be able to grow in my choice of specialty. Fast forward to 2022, I learned about nursing foot care for the first time. I jumped at the opportunity of taking this course, not knowing how much it would change my whole career.

I have been able to grow my business (Emily Reade’s Foot Care Services) into a full-time career, offering in-clinic and in-home nursing foot care. I have a great work-life balance, being able to spend more time with my two kids and be at home more.
There is so much to learn, and so many opportunities, in nursing foot care. I take advantage of any course, conference, or workshop that comes available. I love being able to educate my clients on preventative measures.

Switching from bedside nursing, to owning my own business in a nursing specialty, was the best decision for me. I can’t wait to teach future FCN students and help them do the same.
See you soon!
